Life: About Being a Grown-up

I like the way I am.

I mean it.

Most women want desperately to look younger and younger, but I say getting older, for me, is definitely the most wonderful thing in the world because I know as time goes by I will become wiser and more mature.

When I was younger, the only thing I knew was "I am young."

I knew nothing about myself, and I cared very much how others judged me.

I did not know what I was good at, and I could hardly accept the fact that I was not perfect.

In other words, I was a subject without subjectivity.

I was not myself, or I was not a self.

I was only a being without any personality.

But now as I am about to be thirty, everything becomes more obvious that time changes things in a positive way.

I know my disadvantages, and I accept them without difficulties.

I start to care less who I am in others' eyes because it is impossible for others to stop judging me.

So why not focus on myself rather than get mad about people's criticism?

To be myself is the best thing I can get as I get older.

Of course there are many lessons to learn and many obstacles in life to overcome, but I will be stronger.

I promise to myself.
